ENIS - Network of Innovative Schools

Dissemination of Best Practice is mandatory to spread the effective use of ICT in education in Denmark.

ENIS, the European Network of Innovative Schools, has been appointed by the Danish Ministry of Education for the academic years 2004/05 - 2006/07.

The Danish network is composed of 75 schools: 51 public primary and lower secondary schools (folkeskoler); whereof some have special needs departments, 1 special needs school at county level. Also 20 institutions offering youth education; upper secondary education and vocational schools. In addition there are 3 private schools offering primary and lower secondary education.

The innovative schools act in the role as demo schools where other schools from the local area or region can ask them for guidance and advice regarding innovative use of ICT.
